Eclipse and belief

This is an excerpt from one of the news item from indian express.
------------
The superstitious placed tulsi leaves or grass in their cooked food, water and milk before the start of the eclipse in the belief edible stuff gets contaminated during a solar eclipse. Adhering to advice from astrologers, many people did not eat or drink, and some even refrained from relieving themselves or venturing outdoors during the eclipse time. The staunch believers bathed after the eclipse was over.
---------------
I would like to know if there is any reason in doing these.

Independence day

On Aug 15th, I was wathcing a TV program. Some one was singing a so called Patriotic song.. One of the lines says:

"Bharatiye ninna janma dinadandu ninage namisuvevu ..." something of that sort... Meaning we bow to you on your "birth day"

I was actually astonished to listent to this line... How can Aug 15ht be celebrated as Bharat's Birth day ?? Its disgrace for all of us. We have not understood the meaning of our independence day but everyone takes the day off and enjoy their life... I felt really bad..

How can anybody determine Birthday of Bharat ? Its there since the time of Rishis and Munis .. we have got the proof also.. Alas our so called poets dont know this simple matter.

transport yourself to the era where Samskrit ruled
Pravarapurva (the current day Srinagar) and when the

Peace,Tranquility, Creativity and Knowledge deserted

What is Our Aim (Contd...)

My reply to Narendra's Last comment on this topic posted before, was very lengthy, So I've madeit a new post.

Regarding the ABPS Resolution..
I dont Understand the idea behind what ABPS decides, that some how seemed irrelavent to me in today's context. that apart,
1. How does a normal swayamsevak know what he is doing? Where is the Direction for a Swayamsevak? I feel we are Directionless. Show me the Direction...

"One of the biggest achivement is the change in Hindu mindset!"
I know that this ia a factor of Parama Vaibhava, may be 5 % of it... Tell me, How has this helped our country grow as a nation in the globe? What about the other 95 %?

"Assume Sangh was not there and only Hindu Maha Sabha or Arya Samaj were to be there and what would have happened!?"
This is typical "nann Bitre Illa" attitude...which I dont agree...Our nation since ages, has faced so many trials and Tribulations but There wasn't a time when we had no one to stand up for it...
If not Sangha, there would have been some one else...I have all the respect in the world for Dr.ji, Guruji, but those at the realm today...I dont want to comment...

"Even bringing BJP to power in a country "...
Who ???We??? If sangha thinks so...then nobody can help Sangha...Come on Narendra, BJP might be Sangha's Kid and may go along with Same ideology, But to Claim that It was RSS "ALONE" which brought BJP to Power is ridiculous...Even Sangha might not accept that they are "KingMakers". I strongly feel they are not...

"For Economic Stability, Sangh has started a separate organization and they have started proposing "Hindu Economics"."
Nowadays, for each national Issue there is an Organisation Inspired by sangha, and Sangha Has totally lost track of what It is supposed to do..."OutSourcing Issues"..Can I call it...No of Sangha Preritha Organizations may Even outNumber the number of shakhas we have in the whole country...

Yes, we have started with "Grama Vikas" which has started giving fruits. This is definitely a step towards "Sarvangeena Unnati". Even Gandhiji's "Grama Swarajya" plan was the same, bot nobody in Congress pursued it!
This like treating a person who urgently needs a Bypass Surgery to survive for a Common Cold he has!

But, whatever we have achieved is very little compared to what has to be still done.

"whatever we have achieved" - What have we?
"what has to be still done." - What?

For that, we need "Some people who can give FULL TIME, more people who can give MORE TIME"
"that" -
What?

I think unless we get a Direction, there is not much Sangha Can do...My conclusion is that Sangha is Currently Directionless....

I once again mention that these question that I have posted is just to know what We are doing in Sangha. My heart says Sangha can do miracles for the country, but I want to convince my mind too, that Sangha Can.Please Advise

RSS rescues Christian priests

New Delhi, July 10: RSS activists recently rescued 80 Christian priests trapped in an accident in the dense forests of Orissa's Sambalpur district and even donated blood to save their lives.

A marriage party comprising 90 Christian priests was on its way in a truck from Jamankeri village to Goudpil when it met with an accident in which 10 of them died on the spot and 80 others were seriously injured, said a report in the latest issue of RSS mouthpiece 'Organiser'.

As the Priests looked for help in the dense forests, an RSS activist heard their shouts and managed to mobilise 50 Sangh volunteers to help them.

"The Pastors were rescued and admitted to a nearby hospital, 45 kms from the site, in that dark night," the report said disclosing that the Swayamsewaks not only provided the injured medicines and food but "donated their own blood" to the pastors.

The weekly quoted Bishop Samal as saying, "these boys of RSS have given us a new life. We are grateful to them. May God bless them."

"We have not done anything much. What we have done has been done from the humanitarian point of view. All of us are human beings. All are children of God," it quoted B B Nanda, RSS state Secretary as saying.

The RSS has often been criticised by Christian organisations for targeting Christian missionaries in the tribal areas.

Our weekness can become strength......!

A 10-year-old boy decided to study judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident. The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn't understand why, after three months of training the master had taught him only one move.

"Sensei," the boy finally said, "Shouldn't I be learning more moves?"

"This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you'll ever need to know," the sensei replied.

Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training.

Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament.

Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the match. Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals. This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced. For a while, the boy appeared to be overmatched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out. He was about to stop the match when the sensei intervened.

"No," the sensei insisted, "Let him continue." Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the match and the tournament.

He was the champion. On the way home, the boy and sensei reviewed every move in each and every match. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his mind.

"Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only one move?"

"You won for two reasons," the sensei answered. "First, you've almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grab your left arm."

The boy's biggest weakness had become his biggest strength.

Sometimes we feel that we have certain weaknesses and we blame god, the circumstances and our self for it but we never know that our weakness can become our strength one day. Each of us is special and important, so never think you have any weakness, never think of pride or pain, just live your life to its fullest and extract the best out of it!"
