Youth

I have seen many friends, who I see in my day to day life don't believe in the RSS methodology. They ofcourse accept the idealogy of the RSS. They say its all outdated processes. Sometimes its difficult to convince them. One can ask why you should convince them, just bring them to RSS stream, but I faced lots of problem in bringing them before convincing.

One of my friends, Aravinda, knows RSS from his childhood. Never denies anything about its saying.. He has just built a lot of expectation out of RSS, but never comes to the field. I tried convincing him by giving loads of examples. He agrees to all but never acts. He also know there is a scarcity of people. But never acts..

Another friend, keeps telling do this do that .. Kill our enemies .. What's BJP doing.. Why Anantkumar is like that ... But if I ask him what are you doing.. he doesnt have an answer. He says.. you are in the organization so you have to do something.. he again never comes to field..

This is not a new problem that karyakartas are facing.. one standard, classic solution that anyone can think of is to slowly bring them into the stream by friendship. What are all the other ways ?? Some lights on this area please..

The kind of people you have mentioned are brainy type. Logic is the main driving force for them. They question everything and do nothing. We need people with heart whose main driving force is feeling/empathy (Spandane). You better target such kind of people first: they are everywhere ;-)

But then the Logic driven people are not good for sangha kaarya ?? One of the shlokas says No one is useless; only organiser is lacking. My question is how to bring them to field ?

I did not say that they can not be used. It is difficult to engage them. You can take them to some places where some seva activities are going on, like Nele, Seva-in-action, Anoupacharika shikshana etc. Update them constantly about the activities going on. Introducing Sangh through seva activities is more easier than showing them Shakha. They won't be able to appreciate the Shakha unless they dive in deeper.

We need two types of people for Sangha Karya.
One is dedicated karyakarta and he gets built in Sanghasthana.
    The other is Hitaishi.
For 1 karyakarta, we need 100 hitaishi.
So, your friends can become hitaishi's. They are not averse to Sangh. Deep inside their heart they feel that our county has to prosper. But, they can't correlate this to Sangh's activities. Really it is very difficult to understand Sangh Karya.
So, we need not worry that they are not participating in our activities. Encourage them to give thier views and make them participate in discussions. Ask them to give their opinions in this type of forums. Take Sangh adhikaris to their houses. Slowly they will become Swayamsevaks. If not they, atleast somebody in their house will become swayamsevaks. I have experienced this myself. We have got many Sanghachalaks who were averse to Sangh ideology and believed that Sangh killed Gandhi! Today they are our Sanghachalaks. This has been achived only by the way I explained above.
Argument will only move them away from us. First of all accept whatever they tell and this will win them to your side. Make them aware that you respect their ideas. And don't force your ideas on them.

We were a group of 10 people in our hostel during my BE. All of them used to argue with me and tease me for going to shaka. Today also they tease me whenever they get an occation to do that:-)
They are in very good positions (one person is director of a company in US, another is Vice President in US, another is Delivery Manager in Infosys....) My father is looking after a school in Munganapalli near chintamani (it has been adopted by Rashtrothana from this year) for past 12 years. He wanted to provide them solar lighting so that students can study at nights also in the school (most of the villages in Karnataka get very low voltage or no electricity during nights) So, he asked me to write to my friends and we composed a letter. To my amazement all of them contributed to this cause and were very happy also!! Today when the whole village is in darkness, the school is well-lit and students study without interruption and has got 90+ percentage in SSLC this year! Infront of me they act as if they appose Sangh. But inside their heart they admire sangh work.

So, no need to worry if some of your friends are oppose our ideology. Atleast they have started thinking for the country (by opposing Sangh)!!

    Namaste...

I'm a swayamsevak in the US. I think that we need to get most of the good prospetive swayamsevaks/sevikas at a young age. At least in the US, how much a youth/child takes to shakha is usually proportional to the importance his/her parents give to shakha. So I say keep targetting them young. Easily more than 90% of the kids up to 11 or 12 yrs of age will enjoy shakha if there is a good shikshak, good sampark, etc. Unfortunately not enough Hindu parents see the real value of shakha else sangh would have grown much faster. Other factors of course exist regarding the challenge of getting more youth but lack of karyakarthas and mis-placed parental priorities are the 2 key factors in my opinion. Dhanyavaad
